Bruce Appelbaum - Chairman

With 30 years experience in the E&P business with several companies, Dr. Appelbaum was leader of Texaco’s global exploration activities until his departure from the corporation in 2002. His offshore experience included leading the company’s large business in the Gulf of Mexico.

Dr. Appelbaum received a BA in Geological Sciences from the State University of New York/Buffalo in 1969 and MS/PhD degrees in Geological Oceanography from Texas A&M University in 1971 and 1974. He attended Cornell’s Executive Development Program in 1987.  Dr. Appelbaum joined Texaco in 1990, as Division Manager of Texaco USA’s Offshore Exploration Division in New Orleans. He built highly successful programs and was promoted through several positions of increasing responsibility culminating in his election as an officer of Texaco, Inc. and designation as President of Worldwide Exploration and New Ventures. Prior to his arrival at Texaco, Dr. Appelbaum built successful exploration and producing programs at several independents, including Union Pacific Resources and SEDCO Energy. He left ChevronTexaco in 2002 to establish Mosaic Resources. Dr. Appelbaum is currently a director of Input/Output Inc., a seismic equipment manufacturer and service provider.

Jim Hale - Managing Director UK

Jim Hale is a Graduate Chemical Engineer from Leeds University UK with over 30 years experience in the Oil and Gas business including 23 years with Texaco/Chevron.   Jim has worked in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Trinidad and Kazakhstan. This experience has provided Mr. Hale a broad knowledge of all facets of the Exploration and Production business.

Mr. Hale's principle interest and experience is in Project Management and Producing Operations.  His project management experience includes successfull assignments as Offshore Installation Manager, Construction Manager, Project Manager, Asset Manager, General Manager & Country Manager.

Doug Waterston - Project Director UK

With over 25 years of offshore oil and gas experience, Doug has held a number of senior technical and operational roles at both Texaco and Chevron including Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) and Asset Team Manager for a variety of North Sea fields.  Overseas, Doug was Texaco's General Manager for offshore operations in Nigeria and latterly Operations Manager for Chevron Canada's offshore Hebron project.  Doug is a Petroleum Engineer by profession.

Martin Eldon - Non-Executive Director

With over 20 years of oil and gas industry experience, Mr. Eldon has managed large offshore operations and has had extensive experience in the North Sea.  Now at Addax Petroleum in Nigeria, he serves as a non-executive director at Mosaic Natural Resources.
